GPBot FAQ - READ BEFORE POSTING NEW THREAD

I'm attempting to compile all frequently-asked questions here so that new users can have a single place to solve most of their common problems. I will try to update this with more questions and answers over time.

Technical

Q. I get an error when I try to start GPBot!
A. Makes sure you have installed .NET Framework.
If you are running Windows XP or Vista, you need .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.
If you are running Windows Windows 7, you need .NET Framework 4.0 Beta.


General

Q. My "Run Bot" button stay grey!
A-1.GPBot works only with the last WoW version. If you are not playing with last WoW version, this button still gray and you can not use GPBot.
A-2.Run the GPBot.exe as Admin.

Movement

Q. My character doesn't follow the path in the profile!
A. If you are using a flying mount (eg. for herbing or mining) you must have 'Click to Move' enabled both in-game and on the 'General' tab of GPBot. With 'Click to Move' enabled, always do one manual click to move your character before starting the bot.

Turning on 'Auto Path' may also help.

Q. Why won't my character loot?
Make sure your in-game key binding for 'Interact with Target' matches the key on the 'Config -> Keys' tab in GPBot.


Combat/Gathering

Q. Why won't my character attack any monsters?
A. Make sure the monster's faction is added to the profile. You can do this by targeting the mob in-game and pressing the 'faction' button on the 'profile' tab of GPBot.

Q. Why does my character stand still 'resting' instead of eating food?
A. Make sure your food/water is on a hotbar, and specified as Common.Eat/Common.Drink in your class config.

Q. Why doesn't my character gather from a node?
A. Make sure 'Click to Move' is enabled in the game and on GPBot.

Q. Why is my Rogue/Warrior/DK resting for mana?
A. Check the 'PowerType' in your class config. Rogues -> "energy", Warriors -> "rage", DK -> "runicpower".

Q. Why does my melee class run away from the monster?
A. Check your 'FightDistance' and 'MinCombatDistance' in your class config. It should be around 5 for melee classes.


Profiles

Q. Why isn't my path showing up on GPBot when I load my profile?
A. Open the profile in Notepad (or similar) and replace all commas (,) with full stops (.) eg. x="1921,459" -> x="1921.459

Q. Can I use Glider profiles with GPBot?
A. Yes, but only ones that do not use a flying mount. They need to be converted using THIS tool.
